Technoform Glassinsulation

Sustainability as a part of our daily work life

We see sustainability as the interaction between economic, ecological and social factors. A long-term outlook and thinking about future generations are the main reasons behind the principle, in the same way as they are behind the management of a family business:

The Technoform Group needs to be able to operate successfully from one generation to the next. That is why our company vision, our philosophy and our principles are all based on an understanding of the values of sustainable thinking and work practices.

Sustainable work practices

Sustainable work practices

In accordance with our philosophy and principles, we want to create sustainable benefits for our customers, companies and employees through all our market performances, systems and processes. For that reason, the topics of occupational health and safety, environmental protection and energy efficiency are all included in our integrated management system: since 2013, we have been certified in accordance with DIN ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 in Germany and Great Britain and also in accordance with DIN ISO 50001 in Germany.

Sustainable products

Our thermally optimised products serve the cause of sustainability: they constantly insulate windows, doors and facades to the highest degree, conserving valuable global resource in the process. We work on system optimisation with our customers on a daily basis in order to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions. To date, we have produced around 1 billion metres of Warm Edge spacers worldwide. Our products have been used in around 350 million windows and help to save approximately 1.5 billion kWh of energy per annum, significantly reducing the global level of CO2 emissions.

In addition, we use materials which are made from renewable resources and can be recycled in an environmentally-friendly manner. So customers can combine the positive characteristics of our thermal break with enhanced environmental value, thus conforming to respective market requirements to an optimum extent.

Sustainable products

Climate neutrality

The production of our cardboard and wooden packaging uses up resources and generates CO2 emissions.

We constantly compensate for this by planting trees in collaboration with the "Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation".

Responsibility

Using our resources carefully and responsibly is an integral part of our everyday life at work. Recycling and waste separation are important issues both in the office and also during production. We are continuously improving our production processes – not only to reduce our energy requirement but also to make our machines quieter, more comfortable to operate and safer for our health.

REACH compliance

Our customers want a product that is chemically innocuous and safe: therefore we do not use any of the substances defined as harmful in REACH, the European Regulation on Chemicals, in our production process.

Reliability of supply

Our comprehensive occupational safety and fire protection concept means that production can carry on even in exceptional circumstances. We also have three production sites worldwide so we can guarantee a reliable supply for our customers, even in the event of force majeure.
